A brief history and an understanding of computer networks

Computer network (network) is a system that consists of a minimum of 2 interconnected computers to be able to share resources (printers, CPU), communicating (email, instant messaging), and can access information (web browser). The purpose of the network is to be achieved its goal, every part of the computer network can request and provide the service (service). Requesting/receiving services is called the client (client) and give/send service called servers (server). This design is called a client-server system, and is used in almost all applications of computer networks.

HISTORY OF COMPUTER NETWORKS
Computer network concept was born in the 1940s in America from a project on the development of computer models I of Bell Labs and the research group led by Harvard University Professor h. Aiken. In the beginning the project was simply want to leverage a shared yangharus computers. For some the process without much waste time vacant Congressional process streak (Batch Processing), so some programs can be run on a computer with the rule of the queue.
.

In the late 1950s when the computer starts to dilate until the type is the creation of a super computer, then a computer must serve several terminal for it found the concept of the distribution of time-based process known as TSS (Time Sharing System), then for the first time forms the computer network is applied. TSS system connected in series several terminals to a host computer. In the process of starting to appear to blend technology TSS computer and telecommunications technology that was originally developed independently

Entering the 1970s, after the work load increased and prices of major computer device feels very expensive starting, then start to use the concept of a distribution process (Distributed Processing). In this process a number of host computers working on a large job in parallel to serve several terminals which are connected in series disetiaphost computer. The distribution process is absolute Dala required a profound blend between computer technology and telecommunications, because in addition to the process to be distributed, all host computers must serve terminal-terminalnya in one command from the computer center

Next when computer prices have started to decline and the little concept of distribution process is ripe, then the use of the computer network already diversifying from getting to handle the process along as well as communication between computers (Peer to Peer System) alone without going through a computer center. For it to start developing the local network technology known as LAN.Similarly when the Internet began to be introduced, then the majority of stand-alone LAN mulaiberhubungan and there is a giant network WAN

THE TYPE OF COMPUTER NETWORK
1. Cabling
-Connections between computers that use the media as a conduit cable
2. Wireless (wireless)
-Do not use the media cables to connect multiple computers
