PAN
• Computer network used for communication between computers that are close to one personal.
• devices: personal computers (PCs), printers, fax machines, phones, PDAs, scanners, video game consoles and so forth.
• Technology: USB, Firewire, Bluetooth, Infrared, and so on.


LAN
• Networking is limited by a relatively small area, generally bounded by the environmental area.
• Example of a network of offices in a building, or of each room in a school.
• Usually the distance between nodes is not more than about 200 m



MAN
• Covers a larger area than a LAN, for example between buildings in an area (such as the provincial or state).
• This network connects several small tissue pieces into a larger neighborhood area.
• Examples are: a network of several offices of a bank branch inside a big city which is connected to one another



WAN
• A network usually uses wireless media, means of optic fiber cable or satellite, because its scope is broader, covering not just one city or between cities within a region, but began to reach the area / territory authorities of other countries.
